In the Anavasi project in Lefkada, architectural intervention is defined by the principle of "silent" integration into a steeply sloped site. A strict orthogonal composition is employed to harmonize the built environment with the natural terrain, ensuring that the structure remains secondary to the lush Mediterranean landscape.

Priority is given to longevity and sustainable design, bypassing ephemeral aesthetic trends. The residence is articulated across two distinct levels, with bioclimatic architecture serving as the fundamental foundation of the study, ensuring a minimal environmental footprint.

The earth-sheltered volume, clad in local stone, is utilized as a high-thermal-inertia base that emerges directly from the soil. This subterranean element provides natural cooling and stabilization, rooting the building firmly within the geological context of the island.

Natural lighting and cross-ventilation are facilitated through strategically positioned cour anglaise. These elements grant the subterranean spaces an unexpected sense of extroversion and atmospheric clarity, blurring the boundaries between the interior and the external environment.

On the ground level, clean lines and extensive cantilevers are used to define the open living areas, while green roofs and timber screeners filter the Ionian sun. The material palette of raw stone, natural wood, and textured renders enhances the Mediterranean identity, resulting in a vacation home deeply rooted in its context.
